Equestrienne: Allison Malenfant
I met Allison and her partner Connie on Instagram and then IRL at the Jersey Fresh International 3-Day Event in 2018. We immediately hit it off and I found myself pausing while photographing the event to go and visit their vendor area. More, I couldn’t resist and had to try the Redingote outerwear for myself, preordering it right on the spot! I am a huge fan of their brand and these girls are making a difference in the equestrian market with many of their ambassadors and buyers big names in the equestrian world! And for good reason, the product is high quality, feminine, and my go-to for massage therapy appointments…

Equestrienne: Jamie Baldanza
There is no such thing as a coincidence. I believe everything happens for a reason, and life brings us together in mysterious ways. Last fall I attended the 2018 Equus Film Festival in New York City to represent my bestselling book, Confessions of a Timid Rider which was up for an award. On Saturday morning, I participated in the panel on adventure rides, which was incredibly fun. Not only did I learn about rides other than The Gobi Desert Cup, which I represented, but also get to talk about my own life-altering experience! After the panel ended, I spoke to several audience members, one of whom was Jamie Baldanza who…

In the Heart and Head of Author MJ Evans
I had the honor of meeting young adult author MJ Evans at the Equus Film Festival. We very quickly hit it off and she quickly became one of my favorite people ever. I’m planning a trip to visit her in Colorado! As a Christmas gift, I bought my daughter the entire “Mist” trilogy, which she has been loving. I am waiting for her to finish so it can be my turn. But I have read, “In the Heart of a Mustang” and frankly it moved me so much. I quickly became entrenched in Hunter’s store and felt the intense connection between him and his mustang mare. Horses have a way…

White Stallion Studio, Pyrography and Pet Portraits
As most equestrians know, the horse world is an incredibly small community. Barn owners, staff, and riders all see each other at horse shows, tack stores, sell horses amongst each other, and move from barn to barn. Go to a Grand Prix and you will find top level riders completely approachable and walking amongst the crowd, taking care of their horses with their grooms, and even watching the competition. So when my daughter’s trainer posted a gorgeous custom piece of art on Instagram about her horse and dog, I was really intrigued. I loved the level of detail. I asked her about the artist and put it aside to contact…

Saddle Seeks Horse: An Interview with Susan Friedland-Smith
Susan Friedland-Smith may not be aware (yet) but she has been a bit of a mentor to me as an equestrian writer and blogger. I fell in love first with her Instagram and there a was a lot that struck a chord with me. An adult equestrian with horse show anxiety, loving her OTTB and also working a full time job. I can relate! It was through Susan’s social media that I first learned of BlogPaws pet blogger network and subsequently through our interaction she recommended American Horse Publications. Both of which I since joined and have had wonderful experiences. In many ways, she has been an inspiration to…

An Interview with Carly Kade, Equestrian Author
Put your spurs on and get excited because equestrian author, Carly Kade, was lovely enough to do an interview with me for Bridle & Bone. You may have heard of Carly, who is the award-winning author of In the Reins. If you haven’t read it, go out and do so today. You won’t want to put it down! Chatting with Carly Kade about Horses and Writing Q: How long have you been writing? A: I have always enjoyed creative writing, but I never set out to be an author of equestrian fiction. It just kind of happened when cowboy/horse trainer McKennon Kelly showed up as a poem.…

Wild Child Equestrian, Burgeoning Equestrian Brand
I love all things equestrian, but the preppy vibe isn't really my thing. An emerging equestrian apparel company in New Jersey bridges the gap. Boho meets Equestrian!
