8 Equestrian Podcasts You Need to Subscribe To Today
If you are like me, you spend a lot of time driving. Sure, you can listen to music, but a long drive to the barn or even time spent mucking out is often better when listening to a podcast. There are many to choose from, but how do you know where to start? I’ve compiled a few of the horse-related podcasts on my phone.
1. Equestrian Pulse Podcast
Perhaps I’m a little biased since I’m a co-host. Still, I love working with these ladies! Each episode is unique and depends on the co-host or co-hosts chatting together on a theme, or interviewing someone interesting.
Who: Equestrian Pulse is hosted by four equestrian bloggers based globally, in the United States (me, Heather Wallace, The Timid Rider), Ireland (Natalie O’Keefe, Inside Track Eventing), France (Louise Dando, In Due Horse), and Australia (Andrea Parker, The Sand Arena Ballerina).
What: The Equestrian Pulse Podcast takes the pulse of the global equestrian community. A podcast by international bloggers, we discuss nutrition and fitness, trends, horsemanship, and confidence amongst all disciplines.
When: New episodes on Sundays every other week.
Where: Hosted by Buzzsprout, you can listen there or on the following channels.
2. Horses in the Morning
A favorite for good reason, this daily podcast is a staple in the equine world.
Who: Glenn Hebert (aka Glenn the Geek) and Jamie Jennings host with special guest hosts and themed episodes periodically.
Glenn the Geek founded the Horse Radio Network in July 2008. Starting with one show (The Stable Scoop Radio Show) and no listeners, since then the Horse Radio Network has now grown to numerous shows with tens of thousands of listeners from around the world.
Glenn hosts several of the shows on the network including the Stable Scoop Radio Show, HORSES IN THE MORNING and the Driving Radio Show.
Known as America’s Horse Husband, Glenn married into the horse thing about 30 years ago when he met Jennifer, his horse addicted wife. Together they ran a large training, boarding and lesson facility for over 10 years. Glenn learned to drive horses and his passion lies in being in a carriage driving ponies.
Jamie Jennings was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She began riding at the age of 6 on her not-so-trusty pony, Snowflake. She was bit with the horse bug at an early age, and blessed enough to have wonderful supportive parents. She rode up and down the east coast, with most time spent in Lexington, Cleveland, and Southern Pines.
At the age of 18 in Lexington, KY, Jamie discovered the sport of Eventing. With the help of several talented coaches, Jamie successfully competed up through Prelim. Her motto is “Once you event, you NEVER go back!” Her life goal is to compete in every state in the continental US!
Jamie was a professional broadcaster in Atlanta for ten years. She began reporting for a local Atlanta sports station, and quickly moved up to host multiple morning and afternoon shows on country, top40, and Alternative Rock stations.
What: HORSES IN THE MORNING is the first live morning show with an equine theme. Its a light, lively, entertaining daily look at the horse world and the people in it. The show includes entertaining conversation, out of the ordinary guests, numerous regular horse related segments, listener call in, contests, giveaways and so much more.
